About Alliehope

My real name: Alison

Where I am: Chicago, IL

My age: immaterial (20-something)

My interests are wide-ranging: I love to write, do volunteer work (I serve in my church’s children’s ministry, and love serving through Habitat for Humanity on the annual Blitz Builds we do. I went for the first time in ’07 and am now hopelessly addicted. I love sports, the arts (I paint and write my own poetry), work as a cashier (not exactly an artsy job) for Portillo’s Hot Dogs, best dang hot dogs ever (and I’m not just saying that as an employee, either).

Myself in two sentences:

My name is Alison Bustamante and I am a
My purpose is to create a joyful and caring world by teaching others to recognize and use their strengths.

In case you’re curious, that’s what’s called a “contract”, and I earned that statement Pathways to Successful Living Seminars. I earned that at the Advanced Seminar, kind of the “201” session in their series. The second sentence is what’s called a “purpose”, a statement developed to go with my contract, declaring that this is what I feel I was put on this earth to do, again a gift of Pathways. It’s a remarkable organization, and one that has had a profound impact on my life.

In case you haven’t already figured it out, I’m a Christian. I believe in God, in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit, the Most Holy Trinity. I believe that God has put me here on this earth for His purposes, and believe that His mercy is deeper than my deepest sin, His love greater than my greatest sadness. I believe that He will fulfill His purposes for me and through me, even if He has to work in spite of me, as I can be horrendously stubborn, and often unwilling to trust Him.

So that’s a little about me, at least where I am right now. Where I will go, and who I will become are mystery, but not entirely beyond my grasp.
